THE INAUGURAL HUT 2 HUT TRAINING CAMPS

For the first time, with the help of our great mate Beau Miles, Hut 2 Hut is bringing you an interactive training weekend to help you prepare for, and understand, the Oscars 100km and Archies 50km courses.

Regardless if you're new to trail running, or an experienced pro, spending some quality time on trails in the Victorian Alps prior to the 2026 event can be a real benefit. We have two great dates planned for a fantastic trail experience at Mt Buller, both of which will be hosted by Beau Miles.

These fun weekends will help you get ready and prepare you for your adventure in February, 2026. All entry fees that we generate from these amazing weekends is donated directly to Oscars100, so not only do you get a get a weekend away on the trails, you're also supporting this amazing grassroots charity and making positive change for autistic kids, and their families, across Victoria.

Spots are very limited. There are only 20 spots (two groups of 10) available each weekend.

Can I book my own accomodation?

Yes, you can if you prefer to stay somewhere else. Accomodation is an inclusion of the ticket price so the price remains the same if you stay with the group or select your own digs.

Where will we be staying?

We have booked a lovely chalet with shared, dorm style rooms. Please bring your own towels, pillow, single bed sheets and you're fav doona or sleeping bag.

How many runs do I get over the weekend?

You have the opportunity to head out for a run everyday you're on the mountain. As part of the package you will select a guided run with Beau on either the Saturday (beginner to intermediate group - slower pace) OR Sunday (intermediate to experienced group - faster pace). Beau can take out 10 participants at a time so chose the group that suits you best. We will provide some maps for you on other runs/hikes you can head out on when you're not with Beau.

What's happening at my dinner with Beau?

If you select the Beginner to Intermediate Group (slower group) you'll have dinner with Beau on the Friday night. If you select the Intermediate to Experienced Group (faster group) you'll have dinner with Beau on the Saturday night.

Dinner will be at the Koorora Hotel in Buller Village with meals and drinks available at bar prices. Your group of 10 will have a chance to sit with Beau and take in all of his experience and knowledge of running the Hut 2 Hut courses. You can discuss with him training tips, what to expect, what to focus on while on the trail, gear advice and running tips.

Beau has very kindly donated his time to Oscars100 to support our Hut 2 Hut weekend and the charity. So take the time to have a yarn over dinner and live in the moment.

Can i just buy a ticket to the camp?

In short no. These training camps are all about giving people who have entered the 2026 events the opportunity to spend some guided hours on the course. It's about getting familiar with some of the more technical bits of the course so when race days comes you're all set and prepared.

If I'm running the Oscars 100 can I go to the Archies 50 training camp and vice-versa?

No, you'll only have access to tickets for the event you've entered in. The courses you run, and the info Beau covers, will be tailored to the specific events.

Is there change or mind or can I transfer my entry if I can't make it?

There is no change of mind or refunds for these camps. If you get injured, or have exceptional circumstances arise, you will be able to transfer your ticket to another competitor, but you won't be able to access a refund. Also please select the group you wish to run in carefully. You will buy a ticket for either the Saturday Guided Run (beginner to intermediate - slower) or Sunday Guided Run (intermediate to experience - faster). Once you have paid for your ticket you can't change days. There is a maximum of 10 people per group, per day so changes are not possible.

Whats the difference between the beginner-intermediate group and the intermediate-experienced group?

Good question. The beginner-intermediate group will join Beau on the Saturday. The course and pace for this group will be a moderate walk/jog with a target to cover around 15-20km ish. The intermediate-experienced group will move quicker at a jog/run pace and will cover around 20-25km. The camp will look to have groups stay close together so please select the appropriate group for you and your estimated pace.

What gear to do i need to bring for the run?

We recommend that you bring all of your mandatory gear. You will be in the Vic Alps so weather is changeable and need to be prepared for any conditions. Plus its a great opportunity to train with what you'll be carrying come event weekend. You will need to carry your own water and food so make sure you can carry a minimum of 2 litres of fluid and have enough snacks to fuel a few hours on the trails.
